Ensuring reliability, safety and stability for the power system is the most important factor and a big challenge for power system operators with the aim of providing continuous power supply for production, business, transmission and distribution activities. In reality, during the operation of the power system, it is faced with many impacts and influences that cause instability and reduce reliability due to short circuit incidents, sudden load increases, loss of synchronization and excessive load usage that overloads the system’s tolerance, in addition to being affected by natural factors such as lightning. In particular, with the development, use and increasingly connecting more and more distributed power sources to the existing power system, the structure of the power system has changed and caused negative impacts on power quality and reliability of the power system.

System analysis is one of the necessary and mandatory requirements in power system management. Power system analysis is calculated based on measurement results, real data information of the system under different operating conditions and scenarios. Reliable results from analysis help power system operators make quick decisions for equipment selection, planning and developing future load and power generation sources, responding quickly to system abnormalities and failures and building a good protection system for the power system. Recommendations and suggestions from analysis results help improve and enhance the safety, reliability and stable power quality of the power system.
